Angry Serena Williams taunts Wimbledon crowd: ‘Don’t try me’

Five years ago, she might have shouted at the chair umpire. Three years ago, she might have turned to the crowd and let out one of her patented, bellowing screams. In 2015 however, Serena Williams calmly asked chair umpire Kader Nouni to quiet down the frenzied crowd at Centre Court in between points of her third-round match, as some fans were oohing, aahing and gasping at every ball that landed within two feet of a line, rooting on the hometown hope in No. 59 Heather Watson.

But Serena wouldn’t be Serena if she didn’t give it just a little attitude. After her brief chat with Nouni, Serena turned, waved her finger in the “nuh-uh” fashion at the crowd and said “don’t try me” with a little bit of that 2009 U.S. Open vibe in her.

There were a few immediate boos but most cheered the announcement to quiet down, as it’s always a few people ruining…
