Why Do People Of Color Make Fun Of White People?

“If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they’ll kill you.”

Blacks get a racial pass when it comes to clowning white people. Lot’s of black comedians have made fortunes off of doing that.

And white people have been good sports about it. They don’t cry racism or “raise up”. They take the comedic charges on the cuff and keep moving.  And now that I’ve explained it, the joke isn’t that funny anymore. Lame.) Lately, I’ve been thinking about all the dynamics that are involved in humor as a tool of survival in the world of identity, privilege, and disadvantage.

Hell, they even pay to hear themselves being clowned.

If a white comedian went after some of the “idiosyncrasies” of blacks they’d be run off stage and possibly hooked, hog tied, and collared.

The jokes wouldn’t be funny.

So why are white people fair game for  funny and stereotypical shots fired?

I'm a curious one that finds politics, social issues, and diverse progressive solutions interesting. I believe information and education are the most powerful weapons one can arm himself with. Those two dynamics alone open the doors to opportunities. I also subscribe to each one teach one for a better world for all.
