Have You Seen Sierra Shields?

This is Sierra Shields. Have You See Her?

No saturated news coverage, no extensive cable network analogies it seems as if mainstream news outlets have an “oh well” attitude toward Sierra Shields. Well not this blogger.

African-Americans make up just 13 percent of the U.S. population, yet account for 33 percent of the missing in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s database. Cases involving African-Americans also tend to receive less media coverage than missing Whites, with missing men of color getting even less attention.

Concerned bloggers like myself can help change the above-misconstrued percentages.

We reach a vast amount of people on a daily basis. It wouldn’t be a shot in the dark to do missing person’s post on someone who’s gone missing. You never know who’s reading your blog that may have some information on a missing person.I’m going start 2016 off by making my blog another distribution source for information on missing persons.

My first missing person’s post of 2016 is Sierra Shields.

Thirty-one-year-old Sierra Shields was last seen at La Guardia Airport around noon on January 14th, 2016, where she had just finished speaking to her supervisor. That supervisor says something was amiss about Sheild’s demeanor. Shields left before the supervisor could engage her in an in-depth conversation,

Shields’ father Christopher Shields, 60, said it’s unclear if his daughter had quit her job, but that she did leave her flight attendant gear in her supervisor’s office before she left.

Shields indicated Sierra is a graduate of Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She has been a resident New York for four years and worked for a company that supplied flight attendants for Delta and United.

Heartbroken family told police that Shields was depressed and suicidal in the days leading up to her disappearance.

Kudos to The International Brotherhood of Teamsters’ Airline Division representing the 30-year-old flight attendant who disappeared in Queens NY for putting up $10,000 for information about her whereabouts.

I'm a curious one that finds politics, social issues, and diverse progressive solutions interesting. I believe information and education are the most powerful weapons one can arm himself with. Those two dynamics alone open the doors to opportunities. I also subscribe to each one teach one for a better world for all.
