If you live in Atlanta or hung out there for a minute then you know ’bout Dugans. The Dugans that kicks off $2 Tuesdays and serves up those big ass wings for fifty-cents. Yeah that’s the Dugans I’m talking about.
Your days of getting drunk as hell and eating on the cheap at the one on Ponce de Leon Avenue are limited.
It’s reported that sometimes around the first quarter of 2017 a Chic-fil-A will be doing what they do in Dugan’s spot.
You will be able to get yourself a chicken sandwich, but no beer and no “wangs”.
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A is reportedly planning a new location in midtown. The freestanding restaurant would be located at 777 Ponce de Leon Avenue, between the Clermont Lounge and Liberty Tattoo, and across the street from the upcoming Gusto! The new Chick-fil-A would also be close to “Beltline” Kroger ( soon to be 725 Ponce mixed use project) and Ponce City Market. [SOURCE]
Well all may not be lost in regards to this big box buy out of a little guy. Dugans has other locations on Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain, Flat Shoals Parkway in Decatur and Old National Highway in Atlanta.
Their wings and cold beer are worth a drive. Grab ya old lady and “ride out”.
Yeah I know, there are those of us that had some memorable times at 777 Ponce de Leon Avenue.
