Some Old School Toys Required User Ingenuity

Back in the day, kids had to have a creative mind to get some excitement out of some of the toys that were on the market. I’m of a belief that such toys had a lot to do with a lot of people growing up and becoming inventors, artists, writers, builders, mechanics, cooks, and most anything else they applied their minds to.

One toy that did absolutely nothing without the tenacity and skill of a human to get it going was the spinning top. I’m sure hundreds of them lay dormant in corners, under sofas, and in toy boxes after the recipients gave up on extracting any form of excitement from them. Those spinning top recipients that were determined to make the cone shaped piece of wood whirl took the toy to new heights.
Check out the vid below for examples of what a creative and determined mind can do with a cone shaped piece of wood.

I'm a curious one that finds politics, social issues, and diverse progressive solutions interesting. I believe information and education are the most powerful weapons one can arm himself with. Those two dynamics alone open the doors to opportunities. I also subscribe to each one teach one for a better world for all.
