We All Are Here Because Of Our Mothers

Yes It takes a man and a woman to conceive. I get that, you get that. But the final call on whether that seed grows and delivers fruit lies solely with the woman. That’s a simple fact and not open for argument.

If you’re reading this then you owe big time props to the first woman in your life – that woman named Mother.

For this Mother’s Day 2016, I am going to go to an artist that some Mothers might find abrasive, controversial, and simply not their liking to lay the bridge from me to you as to just how special women and Mothers are.

That artist is the late Tupac Shukur.

Don’t click out. Just don’t. Give it a listen. Just listen.

I huffed and puffed about my curfew and broke the rules
Ran with the local crew and had a smoke or two
And I realize Momma really paid the price
She nearly gave her life to raise me right
And all I had to give her was my pipe dream.” 2 Pac

  1. Thank you G!

I remember hearing my elders say to a mother, “That’s YOUR baby!”

Now on the surface that seems obvious but after I actually had my own babies, I began to understand what that REALLY means.

Based on this post, you understand too!

    As always, great post!
    RIP Afeni Shakur
