These are some of the exchanges between then Randallstown Maryland resident 23-year old Korryn Gaines and her child before she was shot and killed on Monday, August 1, 2016, by Baltimore County Maryland police ending an hours-long standoff with them.

Korryn Gaines’ fateful Monday began after 9:00 a.m. when Baltimore County police officers knocked on the door of the Carriage Hill apartment she was in to serve arrest warrants to Gaines and a man reported as her boyfriend, 39-year-old Kiean Courtney .

Monday, July 18th, 2017 (Baltimore Maryland). Baltimore City Police Lt. Brian Rice was found not guilty on all charges related to the death of Freddie Gray.

Rice, the highest-ranking officer of six to stand trial over Gray’s death, had been charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and misconduct in office.

Freddie Gray was the Baltimore Maryland man who died of a severe spinal injury on April 19, one week after being chased and arrested for nothing in his by Baltimore City Police.

Gray’s death was ruled a homicide.Homicide (noun)- the deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder.Suicide (noun) — the act or an instance of taking one’s own life voluntarily and intentionally. Well, Freddie Gray didn’t do this.

Baltimore. The Lord knows I have a storied history in this city.

It gave me two of the most important women a man can have in his life – a wife and a daughter.

It was the backdrop to my highest climb in corporate America in one of the nation’s top medical centers.

I was fired two times from jobs and one time from the biggest emotional commitments of my life.

Yet the city provided me success in those venues as well as others.

My former wife and I raised three kids in that city and did a great job of it.
